A Beautiful Garden Wedding at Linden Gardens
Being a lover of the outdoors; hearing anything garden wedding venue-related gets me giddy! When Austine and Mark first reached out to me with their plans of a Garden Wedding, I knew I was meant to document their love. Intentional, real and “all the feels” were the descriptors when asked how they envision their biggest day! Austine’s adoration of old-timey, Super 8mm and vintage home videos made us bond over the nostalgic feeling that I knew I’d capture throughout their wedding.
Staying true to their traditions, the day was nothing short of perfect; curated to the tee with a church ceremony in the Okanagan followed by a reception at Linden Gardens in Kelowna, BC. My photojournalistic approach and documentary style, both with photo and video, allowed me to truly showcase not only their contagious love, but the stunning garden venue setting. From the soft afternoon glow, to a dramatic sunset, hours flew by and I still wanted the day to go on! Intimate Church Wedding Ceremony
Arguably, the most special part of the day was when the girls got ready at Austine’s parents’ quaint home in Penticton. Simple, usually overlooked moments are where the magic lies. The first look with her dad had everyone with a tear in their eyes and the grand reveal with her girls was stunning. To see the love and affection this group of friends has for each other was so heart warming. Following the first look, Austine + Mark partook in a traditional full wedding ceremony at a gorgeous church within the Okanagan. Pure love and joy was felt, especially when all family and guests attended the ceremonial mass to celebrate their marriage.
Garden Wedding Venue with a Modern Twist!
Tradition and boring, not in my books! A lot of times people try to steer clear from the “norms,” or what is regarded as such. It’s often forgotten that ” a good thing,” need not be overdone, it just needs a little twist. Austine + Mark did just that when they chose their garden wedding venue, Linden Gardens. You can’t go wrong anywhere within the grounds. Gorgeous landscaping and colourful flowers abounded; we even found a pond with the most majestic willow tree!
The bride and groom took photos among the beautiful flowers in the gardens, including a spontaneous shoutout to a friend who happened to share his birthday that day! As the sun dipped below the horizon, the twinkle lights fluttered on, the reception flowed into an evening of relaxation before the party-amped up.
Romantic reception filled with love
Austine + Mark ensured a fun-filled evening that was simplistic and true to their personality. Personally cutting their wedding cake and serving all of their family and guests was such a special touch. Finally, with the success of their garden wedding well underway, they danced the night away with everyone under a clear September sky and the soft glow of twinkle lights. It was so apparent that everyone present was here to celebrate our couple; the pictures don’t lie!
